Please explore the information below to learn more about a few of our reoccurring social events. The Desert Doves are committed to fostering a sense of community here in Tucson. Our community events are open to all: community members, RPCVs, Coverdell Fellows, students, partners, friends, family, (anyone!). All are welcome and encouraged to attend.

Desert Doves Events

GENERAL MEMBER MEETING

The next General Member Meeting is Saturday, 11/14 at 5:30pm at Susan and Tom’s House (https://maps.app.goo.gl/eUpftw8n4H6rWgtx7).

As for the Holiday Party, mark your calendars! This year, our holiday party will take place on Saturday, 12/12 at Zemam’s (2731 E Broadway Blvd) from 4-6pm. Bring a wrapped gift to donate to Toys for Tots (optional). Keep a look out for future emails and website postings for additional information!

DOVES DINE

The next Doves Dine is TBA.

FIRST FRIDAYS HAPPY HOUR

1st Friday of every month at 6:00 PM. The next happy hour is at Zerai's on 11/6.

INTERNATIONAL MOVIE NIGHT

The next International Movie Night is TBA.

SERVICE PROJECTS

We are collaborating with Peace Corps Prep and UofA Coverdell students for Cycolvia on Sunday, 10/25.

VOLLEYBALL MEET-UP

Join fellow RPCVs and friends on Saturday mornings for a weekly volleyball meetup at Anza Park. Start time varies with the weather. Call or text Chris (815-529-2780) to confirm before attending.

HIKE WITH US!

The weather is cooling down, and hiking season is officially in session. The Doves are going hiking on Saturday, 10/24, and we need your help picking the trail! All are welcome to join! Cast your vote here.

Please record your preference by Friday, 10/16, and we will coordinate carpooling if you leave your contact information. Final hike destination to be announced by 10/20 via email and Facebook.

We also plan on hiking Saturday, 11/21. Stay tuned for details!

2027 CALENDAR FUNDRAISER

Preorder your 2027 RPCV calendars and get them in time for the holidays. Proceeds replenish our small project grant fund. Click here for the link to preorder.
